We are available for film crews wanting an experienced local cinematographer to assist with their on and underwater filming needs.

Johnny is a professional cinematographer (Akau Film) with many international clients, filming for Docos, TV shows, News and music videos.

We are experts at ensuring other cinematopgraphers and photographers get the opportunities they need to capture their shots and get their work done in a challenging environment. Our job is to make everything easy, safe and smooth so the crew can focus on the job at hand.

 

The boat can be configured in a number of ways to best suit the type of filming being undertaken. There's also plenty of room for diving equipment and safe storage for expensive camera gear.

 

Maiata has been a reliable and important platform for top international bluechip documentary crews while capturing imagery of whales, coral reefs and turtles. TV production crews have also filmed enviromemental work and extreme watersports from our boat.

Detailed knowledge of our local reefs, wildlife and sporting events ensure you are in the right spot at the right time.

 

The design of the boat and our quiet Suzuki engine allows us to get closer to wildlife without spooking. The dual dive platforms at the stern also makes quiet entry into the water easy - a must when filming skittish wildlife.
